Waterloo is our newest store, at 34 Hickory St W — and it is the one with the shortest walk from a lecture hall. It sits within walking distance of both the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier, which means the Garlic Pull Apart Bagel landed here in front of the most receptive audience we have.

Hickory Street West is in the middle of the student district, and the point of this location is that you can reach it on foot from either campus. From UW you are heading east through the neighbourhood; from Laurier you are heading north and west. Either way it is a walk, not a drive, and that is deliberate. If you are coming from further out in Waterloo Region — Kitchener, Cambridge, the townships — you are driving in, and the surrounding streets are residential-scale rather than plaza parking, so give yourself a moment to find a legal spot. This is the newest room in the chain, so it also has the newest build and the shortest queue history. It is also the only Pinochio in Waterloo Region, which means the real catchment stretches well past the two campuses.

This store runs almost entirely on the academic calendar. Term-time evenings are busy and late, reading weeks and summer are noticeably quieter, and a savoury $6.99 item that two people can share does obvious work in a student neighbourhood. Because the walk-up radius here is dense and mostly students, the late-evening window is the busiest of any of our stores relative to its size.
